Since our last update, and the visit from Motorcycle news, we’ve been focusing on our remaining ride and handling work – mainly getting a good base setting that will form a starting point for owners to fine tune if they wish.

After consulting a map of our local roads, we worked out a route that uses a combination of very poor potholed roads (easy find), as well as a nice higher speed section that is slightly corrugated, which is perfect for testing the rebound settings.

We did most of the work on the Ruby set-up (with the clip-ons) then cross-checked onto the Rex with the upright bars, as well as testing the same settings on the Teal bike with the ‘Trail’ tyres.

After many runs, swapping of springs and ‘Click’ adjustments we’ve got something we’re really happy with.

Please don’t be offended if we ask for your ‘current weight’ when you book a test ride – It just helps us get the bike set up for you (and doesn’t mean that we hide the biscuits from you).

We’ve attached the Spec Sheet to this newsletter as we’ve had lots of questions on the more detailed spec options.

Smallest Cog Bike Meet:

Ian and our test rider Dave headed down to Hereford on 23rd August for the “Coffee at the Cog” bike meet.

Over 300 bikes (and their riders) attended the event, and there were a number of bikes from Richard Hammond’s personal collection on display.

We also had the opportunity to look at one of our tanks that now has Viking themed artwork on it thanks to Artwork by Andy – Mac Viking Design. I’m sure you’ll agree it is absolutely stunning!!

Oliver’s Mount:

Our recent (and first) trip to the 80th Anniversary Gold Cup Event was a MASSIVE success, with lots of visitors to our stand and hugely positive feedback on the quality of our bikes.

We also managed to catch some of the racing over the weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This will now become a regular in our calendar and we await the 2027 dates with eager anticipation!

Museum Live – The National Motorcycle Museum

The next time you can see our bikes and the team, will be at the upcoming Museum Live event on 24th and 25th October, where we will have a stand in the main trade area.

Test Rides

We are currently booking test rides for Friday’s and weekends as the rest of the week is preserved for builds and development work. To book your slot, email us on info@mac-motorcycles.com or fill in the ‘Contact Us’ form on the website.

Our test ride slots are very informal, and the only reason we ask you to book is to make sure Ian is available to meet you.
